Meet Mrs. Mosner
Hello, I am Ms. Mosner. I am excited about returning to Lower Dauphin School District this year as a Reading Specialist at Londonderry Elementary School. I have taught fourth grade at Annie B. Nye Elementary School and been a reading interventionist at both Nye Elementary School and East Hanover Elementary School. Prior to that, I taught first, second, third and fourth grade in Illinois and Wisconsin. I attended the University of Iowa for my undergrad degree and traveled to New Zealand and Australia as a part of my graduate studies for my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I love to learn and recognize the important role reading plays in exploring the world around us. As a classroom teacher, I have had the opportunity to share countless stories, explore the meaning of words and learn to decipher the patterns that make our language so rich.
While teaching and learning keep me busy, so do my three children. My oldest daughter Macy, is a student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She is a member of the rowing team and a good daughter who enjoys her independence but checks in enough to keep MY heart happy. My son Charlie is starting his first year at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. He loves all things dangerous like surfing, skiing, ultimate frisbee and flag football. These things keep him busy and me praying. Emilie is my youngest and is also in high school. She loves to swim and is planning to swim in college next year. Em also loves to write and is quite clever with her words. My kids love to hear stories about my day and have on more than a few occasions shared "suggestions" to make my lessons more engaging. I always appreciate their patience and perspective.
In my free time I like to run, read, bake and travel. I’m always looking forward to another adventure. I’ve run marthons, tried to stay current with my professional reading and thanks to my commute and Audible subscription, even found a way to enjoy some leisure reading. I look forward to reading with you soon!
