Meet Mrs. Gilbert
Hello!
I am Melissa Gilbert, the Reading Specialist at Londonderry Elementary School. This will be my eighteenth year in the teaching profession. Prior to joining the Lower Dauphin team, I taught both kindergarten and fourth grade at Steelton-Highspire School District, and then I taught fifth grade at Lampeter-Strasburg School District. I'm excited and looking forward to this school year in the Reading Center.
My husband and I just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary, our son, Korbin, just started attending first grade at Bainbridge Elementary School, and our son, Thatcher, began preschool at Mount Calvary Christian School! We reside in Elizabethtown with our adorable dog, Lucky. In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, watching baseball, reading, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia from around the world.
The Reading Center Program is offered to children in grades K-5 who would benefit from extra reading instruction. The small group instruction provides a boost for your child to gain confidence in reading and writing.
