Our Guidelines

In order for the year to run smoothly, I would like to list a few guidelines that everyone should follow. If you have any questions about anything on this page, please feel free to contact me with your concerns.

Bookbags - Since your child will carry items to and from school often, I ask that you provide a bookbag or backpack with your child's name on it. I will provide a folder that will go to and from school daily containing important papers and your child's behavior calendar which must be initialed by a parent daily.

School Supplies - Please keep in mind that we often share our school supplies. I ask that you not send in anything of great value, or anything that you would not be willing to share with others.  Please send supplies in a labeled pencil box for your child.

Homework - Your child will benefit from time with you discussing school or reading a book. I will send home a book on your child's instructional level each night except for weekends and holidays. I will also send a sheet with an idea on how to share this book each night (either you read it to them, you read with them or they read to you). Please check off how well they did and return the sheet with the book and baggie the next morning. Occasionally I will ask you to do a small assignment at home with your child or to send in something which will help our learning at school.

Birthdays - If your child would like to celebrate his or her birthday with a treat in school, please send me a note ahead of time. It is most convenient if you have a simple finger-food snack which would be quick and easy to serve.  ALL SNACKS MUST BE INSIDE ORIGINAL STORE PACKAGING so that ingredients are clearly labeled. No homemade treats will be accepted. Please send your snack in with your child or deliver before school begins.

Special Projects - We will do special projects from time to time. Your support will be helpful by sending in an item requested for completing the project.
